Our mission
Freeing Potential is a social enterprise focussed on children and young people with additional needs and those who support them.
We will facilitate neurodiverse young people to access experiences, play, therapy and educational activities in a meaningful and fulfilling way.
Alongside the children we also aim to support the wider community surrounding the young person, offering opportunities to bond, learn and share.
We find the real value is being able to celebrate the participation from the young person, no matter how small, over the seemingly large achievement that can appear on the surface when route to the outcome is actually doing to or for the young person without their engagement. From the outside a perhaps a small difference, for the young person truly a fundamental distinction.

Neuro Accessibility
For those for whom it takes longer to process their own bodily responses, to communicate their wishes and needs, and to understand the world around them, we recognise that we live in a world which appears to be in hyper-drive around us. We would all benefit from slowing down, but for those young people simplification and additional time allows the world to be accessible a way that it isn’t normally. Accessibility involves so much more than ramps and wider doors for these young people.

Connect & listen
The key is the gift of time and the skills to connect and listen. We will work with facilitators and practitioners to ensure that the activities are adapted to best suit the individual child or children. We will offer individual and group sessions as well as socialising opportunities and sharing and expert workshops for parents and educators. We aim to work with activity facilitators, therapists & experts to create activities that are tailored to the needs of individuals. This may be to allow for slower processing time, or building in time for augmented communication aids and partners, or to allow for particular sensory sensitivities.
